Cum sa folosesti un proxy / How to use a proxy

As I have seen that this post is quite succesfull, I will translate this into english too. This post will be full of “[RO]” which means that that part of text is in romanian, and “[EN]” which mean that that part is in English. Simple !

[RO]: In acest post va fi descris modul de a folosi un proxy in browser-ul de internet ce il folositi dumneavoastra. Acest proxy ofera posibilitatea de a nu va identifica pe internet cu IP-ul dumneavoastra ci cu IP-ul proxy-ului, oferind o oarecare protectie.
[EN]: In this post it will be described how to use a proxy on your web browser. This proxy offers you the possibility to “hide” your IP. Your real IP won’t be visible, instead, the proxy’s IP will be, offering some “stealth” when surfing the web.

[RO]: Proxy-uri pot fi gasite pe diferite site-uri, de exemplu StayInvisible.com sau AntiProxy.com

Ca sa va exemplific, eu am sa folosesc un proxy de pe AntiProxy.com.

[EN]: You can find different proxy sites, for example StayInvisible.com or AntiProxy.com

As an example, I will use a proxy from AntiProxy.com

[RO]: Primul lucru ce trebuie facut este de a gasi un proxy functional. Apasa ”check” la proxy-ul care il doresti sa vezi daca e functional.
[EN]: The first thing that you need to do is to find a working proxy. Press “check” on which proxy you want to see if it is functional.

[RO]: Daca primesti un mesaj de tipul acesta inseamna ca ai gasit un proxy functional :

[EN]: If you get this type of message, that means that the proxy is working

[RO]: Copiaza adresa proxy-ului, in cazul nostru aceasta este 213.157.49.34 .
Acum, trebuie sa folosim proxy-ul nu? In aceasta parte ai sa vezi cum il poti folosi si am sa exemplific pentru toate cele 3 browsere de internet ‘majore’ si anume Internet Explorer (sau IE) , Mozilla Firefox si Opera (favoritul meu).

[EN]: Copy the proxy’s adress, which in your case is 213.157.49.34 . Now, we got to use it, right ? In this part I will show you how to use that proxy on 3 ‘major’ web browsers : Internet Explorer (or IE), Mozilla Firefox and Opera (my favourite).

[RO]: Pentru cei ce folosesc Internet Explorer :
[EN]: For those who use Internet Explorer:

[RO]: In meniul IE, deschide-ti submeniul Tools, apoi apasati Internet Options precum in imaginea de mai jos.
[EN]: In the IE menu, open Tools, then press on Internet options like in the image below.

[RO]: Apoi apasati tab-ul “Connections” dupa care apasati butonul “LAN Settings” . Am sa las un exemplu si pentru acest pas.
[EN]: Then press on the “Connections” tab, and after that on “LAN Settings” . I’ll leave you an example at this step.

[RO]: Bifati casuta de la Proxy Server, scrieti adresa proxy-ului iar la port scrieti 80. Acum poti apasa OK si de acum browser-ul tau foloseste un proxy.
[EN]: Tick the Proxy Server box, paste the proxy and at the Port section write 80. Press OK, and from now on, your web browser uses a proxy.

[RO]: Pentru cei ce folosesc Mozilla Firefox :
[EN]: For those who use Mozilla Firefox :

[RO]: Din meniul Firefox : Tools > Options…
[EN]: From the Firefox menu : Tools > Options…

[RO]: Apasati tab-ul Advanced > Network > Settings…
[EN]: Press then Advanced > Network > Settings…

[RO]: Click pe “Manual Proxy Configuration”, scrie la HTTP Proxy adresa proxy-ului iar la port pune 80. Bifeaza “Use this proxy server for all protocols” dupa care apasa “OK” . Acestia au fost pasii ce trebuiesc urmati pentru a folosi un proxy pe Firefox.
[EN]: Click on “Manual Proxy Configuration”, write at HTTP Proxy the proxy address and at the Port section, write 80. Tick the “Use this proxy server for all protocols” box, and then press “OK”. This are the steps to be followed to set up a proxy on Firefox.

[EN]: For those who use Opera :

[RO]: Click pe Tools > Preferences …
[EN]: Click on Tools > Preferences …

[RO]: Click pe tab-ul Advanced > Network > Proxy Servers
[EN]: Click on Advanced >’ Network > Proxy Servers

[RO]: Bifeaza “Http” , la adresa scrie adresa proxy-ului iar la port scrie 80. Click pe “Ok” iar acum iti folosesti proxy-ul cand navighezi pe internet.
[EN]: Tick “Http”. At the Adress section write the proxy’s address and at the port section write 80. Click on “OK” and now you’re using a proxy on Opera.

[EN]: Important information for everyone

[RO]: Este posibil ca proxy-ul sa nu fie functional 24 de ore din 24, pentru ca depinzi de calculatorul altcuiva, si nu de al tau. De aceea e bine intotdeauna sa verifici daca proxy-ul este functional dand un “Check” pe AntiProxy.com la proxy-ul folosit de tine.
[EN]: It is possible that the proxy won’t work 24 hours a day, because you depend on someone else’s PC and not your. That’s why it’s always good to “Check” the proxy on AntiProxy.com the proxy you use.
