Buy Fernando Torres. I know he’s very expensive but if you can afford him you’ll see he’s worth the money you spent. I bought him with Inter in my 3rd season and scored a lot of goals. He was the best striker in Serie A and Champions League. Also, he finished up as 2nd best player in the world after Messi.
Also a good stiker is Andre-Piere Gignac ,from toulouse. A friend bought him in his game and gignac scored a lot of goals.in his first season at club(real madrid) he score about 40 goals.

NERI CARDOZO!!! fantastic winger!! get you 20+ assists a season, no joke! cost you around 10 million( if he doesn’t move asap as i bought him on the 2nd season :D), but well worth it. Though you need to play him on the left wing, even though it says that his strongest position is right wing!!

some of the problem, when the player can’t adapt with your football style. they have good stat but poor in performance. but here’s the most valuable wonderkid player in FM 09, in reasonably price:

there are quite a few more but u just have to search for them. the best youngsters are usually brazillian and french.
